Showcase 2: Small Budget Virtual Slate Card

Smaller campaigns, particularly local elections, may not always have the money to do a large online ad buy that suits their needs. But on the web, like-minded campaigns can combine their resources to do a joint ad buy. We at Spot-on call this our "Virtual Slate Card."

To demonstrate how a joint buy might work, we've created a fictional slate of candidates for the City of Caprica. Each campaign pays a portion of the total ad buy and a banner ad is created that rotates through all of the candidates that take part in the slate card. They could all be members of the same political party, or endorsed by a civic organization, or have a cause or issue in common.

In this case, we have Mayor Laura Roslin, City Attorney Lee Adama, and City Council Candidates Tom Zarek and Gaius Baltar all running as endorsed candidates of a local political club, the Caprica Concerned Citizens. Each candidate is part of a larger buy they couldn't afford on their own - and all of the candidates help each other out by being part of a larger buy that reaches more targeted voters.

If you have a group of candidates who share a geographic base of support, or are all trying to reach the same group of voters, we can put together a "virtual slate card" for your group, club or party. With one buy, all of your candidates can benefit from reaching a wider range of voters than they could on their own - and they'll drive home a message of unity for the organization and cause.
